The Responsive Governance Program (RGP) facilitated by Accord for Development in partnership with Bread for The World with the aim of improving the effectiveness of Local Governments in delivering development services to their constituencies, facilitating the development of Strategic Development Plans (SDPs) as well as promoting sustainable community development by building the capacities of Local authorities on effective and efficient management of programs, projects and resources.

 The Responsive Governance program was implemented in 15 Local Government Areas (LGAs) across three states in Imo, Delta and Rivers States. The program was been enthusiastically received by the leadership of the LGAs, with 15 Strategic Development plans ready which were developed using a participatory approach with stakeholders drawn from the Local Government leadership as well as representatives from the women, Youth and Civil Society Demographics.
